- Overlooking the five-year claim requirement: Line 3j identifies the total credit required to be claimed over five years beginning in the current year.

Questions people ask
How is the property-owner credit calculated on line 3j?
Multiply the qualified rehabilitation expenditures on line 3i by 20% and round to the nearest dollar. The form says this total must be claimed over five years beginning in that year.
What if I reported the credit before but am transferring it now?
Use lines 3l through 3o for credits claimed on Schedule HR in a previous year but not transferred until the current year. Provide the WEDC contract number, total five-year credit amount, first tax year reported, and amount being claimed and transferred now.
How do I account for pass-through credits already claimed?
Enter the total allocated credit on line 4g and the amount previously claimed on line 4h. Subtract line 4h from line 4g on line 4i. On line 4j, enter the portion being claimed because it is being transferred.
Can I authorize a contact person to discuss this form with the department?
Yes. Part A, item 8 has a checkbox allowing the listed contact person to discuss information about this form with the department. The form also notes that the contact person may need a Power of Attorney.
