ScheduleH-EZ: ScheduleH-EZ (2025)

Wisconsin · Wisconsin DOR · Used for tax years 2025

Wisconsin Schedule H-EZ is used to claim the 2025 homestead credit. It reports household income, property taxes and/or rent, and calculates the credit.

Who files this form

Schedule H-EZ is a Wisconsin homestead credit claim for 2025. The form lists these eligibility limits:

  • You must have been at least 18 on December 31, 2025.
  • You must have been a legal Wisconsin resident from January 1 through December 31, 2025.
  • If someone claimed or will claim you as a dependent on their 2025 federal income tax return, you do not qualify if you were under 62 on December 31, 2025.
  • No credit is allowed if household income on line 7c is $24,680 or more.

The form also asks about disability if you and your spouse were under 62 on December 31, 2025. If you and your spouse were not disabled, it asks whether either of you had positive earned income in 2025 and says a “No” answer means you do not qualify. These questions refer to the Schedule H instructions for details.

What income do I enter if I am not filing a 2025 Wisconsin income tax return?

Does having heat included in my rent change the calculation?

Yes. If heat is included, enter the rent on line 9a and multiply it by 20% for line 9b. If heat is not included, enter the rent on line 9c and multiply it by 25% for line 9d. The form uses the answer on line 8b of your rent certificate to identify whether heat is included.
