Questions people ask

How is the capital investment credit calculated?

Add the property purchase price on line 10 and real property expenditures on line 11. Multiply that total by 3% (0.03) on line 13 to calculate the credit before pass-through credits.

Where do I report credits passed through from another entity?

Report development zones credits on lines 6a through 6d and capital investment credits on lines 14a through 14d. Enter the entity name, FEIN, and credit amount, and use an additional schedule for extra entries.

Can I report unused credit carryovers?

Yes. Enter unused development zones credit carryovers on line 8 and unused capital investment credit carryovers on line 16. Include Schedule CF.

How do fiduciaries account for credits allocated to beneficiaries?

Enter the allocated amounts on lines 7a and 15a. Subtract those amounts from the current-year credits to calculate lines 7b and 15b. Use those reduced amounts when adding carryovers on lines 9 and 17.
