SC1040V: Individual Income Tax Electronic Payment Voucher (2024)

South Carolina · South Carolina DOR · Used for tax years 2024

Form SC1040-V is South Carolina's 2024 Individual Income Tax Payment Voucher. It identifies the taxpayer and the payment amount for a balance due on Form SC1040, with a checkbox for composite filers.

Who files this form

Use the 2024 SC1040-V to mail a payment if you filed your South Carolina SC1040 electronically with a balance due.

  • If you pay online, do not mail a paper SC1040-V.
  • If you file your SC1040 on paper and owe tax, send your payment with the return, not separately with this voucher.
  • For quarterly estimated tax payments, use SC1040ES instead.
  • If you owe $15,000 or more in connection with any SCDOR return, you must file and pay electronically.

When it's due

For tax year 2024:

  • April 15, 2025: The tax due date stated on the form.
  • May 1, 2025: If you file and pay electronically, you have until this date to submit your return and full payment without penalties or interest. If you do not file and pay by this date, penalties and interest will be charged from April 15, 2025, until you file and pay.

What you'll need

To complete a paper voucher and check, have:

  • Your Social Security Number (SSN), plus your spouse's SSN if filing jointly.
  • Your name and address, including apartment number and ZIP code. Include your spouse's name if filing jointly.
  • The balance due on line 34 of your 2024 SC1040 so your payment matches it.
  • A check payable to SCDOR, with your name, SSN, and “2024 SC1040-V” in the memo.

For online payment, the form directs you to enter your SSN, ITIN, or FEIN and legal name. No MyDORWAY account or additional paperwork is required to pay online.

If you choose to sign up for a MyDORWAY account, you will need your SSN, ITIN, or FEIN and your last payment amount or a copy of your last return.
