OR-REZT: Schedule OR-REZT, Reservation Enterprise Zone Tax Credit (2025)

Oregon · Oregon DOR · Used for tax years 2025

2025 Schedule OR-REZT is used to calculate Oregon’s Reservation Enterprise Zone Tax Credit for tribal taxes paid or incurred by an eligible business. It reports tribal taxes, Oregon tax liability, and the allowable credit, which is the lesser of those amounts.

Who files this form

Use 2025 Schedule OR-REZT to compute the Reservation Enterprise Zone Tax Credit if you are an eligible business that owns or occupies a new business facility in a reservation enterprise zone or reservation partnership zone.

The credit is for tribal taxes paid or incurred, against Oregon taxes otherwise due under ORS Chapter 316 or, for corporations, Chapter 317 or 318.

To qualify, you must be able to check line A: the facility was acquired by purchase or lease, or new construction or installation of property was completed, on or after January 1, 2002, and you are not leasing the facility to someone else.

What you'll need

Have the information requested on the schedule ready:

  • Your legal name as shown on your Oregon return, and your FEIN or SSN.
  • The reservation enterprise or partnership zone name.
  • Information about the facility's acquisition, construction, or property installation for line A.
  • If the facility is on a reservation, its revenue-producing activity immediately before you acquired it, if any.
  • Your current business activity at the facility.
  • The tribal tax amount paid or incurred during the tax year that applies under line 1a or 1b.
  • Your Oregon tax liability for the year.

How to file

  1. Enter your taxpayer information and complete lines A through D.
  2. On line 1, enter the applicable tribal tax amount from line 1a or 1b.
  3. On line 2, enter your Oregon tax liability for the year.
  4. On line 3, enter the smaller of lines 1 and 2. Report that amount as a standard credit on your Oregon individual, fiduciary, or corporation tax return.

Include the schedule with your Oregon corporation or insurance tax return. Submit the original form, not a photocopy.

The form does not provide a mailing address or e-filing instructions.

Common mistakes

  • Submitting a photocopy: The form says to submit the original.
  • Leaving line A unchecked: The form says you are not eligible for the credit if you do not check this box. Check it only if you meet its conditions.
  • Omitting the schedule from a corporation or insurance tax return: The form says to include it with those returns.

Questions people ask

Which tribal taxes go on line 1?

Line 1a is the tribal property tax imposed on the qualified new business facility and paid or incurred by the eligible business during the income or corporate excise tax year. Line 1b is all tribal taxes paid or incurred during that year if the business has not previously conducted business in the zone, meaning its first tax year of operations there. Enter the applicable amount on line 1.

Can the credit exceed my Oregon tax liability?

No. Line 3 limits the allowable credit to the smaller of the tribal tax amount on line 1 and the Oregon tax liability on line 2.

Can I qualify if I lease the facility to someone else?

No. Line A requires that you are not leasing the facility to someone else, and the form says you are ineligible if you cannot check that box.

Where do I report the credit?

Enter the line 3 amount as a standard credit on your Oregon individual, fiduciary, or corporation tax return.
