Oklahoma · Oklahoma Tax Commission · Used for tax years 2025
Oklahoma Form 518-A is a report that a Qualified Venture Capital Company provides to its investors. It reports investments in Oklahoma Business Ventures, the venture capital credit available and allowable for 2025, and unused credit carryovers.
Who files this form
The Qualified Venture Capital Company must provide Form 518-A to the investor when an investment becomes eligible for the credit.
An investor claiming the credit must include a copy of Form 518-A with their income tax return. The Venture Capital Company must also file Form 518 before the credit will be allowed.
When it's due
For an investment that becomes eligible for the credit in tax year 2025, the Qualified Venture Capital Company must provide Form 518-A to the investor by January 31 of the following year.
The form does not state an income tax return filing deadline.

The text provides no mailing address or e-file directions.
Common mistakes
- Claiming the credit before the company files Form 518. The credit will not be allowed until the Venture Capital Company files that form.
- Leaving out Form 518-A. A copy must accompany the investor’s income tax return when the credit is claimed.
- Claiming the initial credit in the wrong year. It may only be claimed in the tax year when the Qualified Venture Capital Company invests the funds in an Oklahoma Business Venture.
- Treating unused credit as refundable or carrying it back. The credit is non-refundable and cannot be carried back to a year before obtaining it.
- Carrying unused credit forward too long. Unused credit may be carried forward, in order, to each of the next three years only.
