504-C: 2024 Form 504-C Application for Extension of Time to File an Oklahoma Income Tax Return for Corporations, Partnerships and Fiduciaries (2024)
Oklahoma · Oklahoma Tax Commission · Used for tax years 2024
Oklahoma Form 504-C requests additional time to file a corporation, partnership, or fiduciary income tax return for 2024. It reports estimated income tax liability, withholding, payments, credits, and any balance due. It extends the time to file, not the time to pay tax.
Who files this form
Corporations, partnerships and fiduciaries use Form 504-C to request more time to file an Oklahoma income tax return when they:
- Owe additional Oklahoma income tax.
- Do not have a federal extension.
- Need more time than their federal extension allows.
If you have an automatic federal extension and owe no additional Oklahoma tax, Oklahoma honors that extension. You do not need Form 504-C, but must provide a copy of the federal extension when you file your Oklahoma return.
Electing pass-through entities use Form 504-PTE. Individuals use Form 504-I.
What you'll need
Have the following information ready to complete Form 504-C:
- The entity’s name, mailing address and federal employer identification number.
- The tax year and Oklahoma return type: Form 512, 513, 512-E, 512-S, 513-NR or 514.
- Your federal extension date, if granted, and the Oklahoma extension date you are requesting.
- A reason if you are requesting time beyond the federal extension.
- Your total income tax liability, which may be estimated, Oklahoma tax withheld, estimated tax payments, prior-year overpayment credited, and other expected payments and credits.
When you file your Oklahoma return, provide a copy of the federal or Oklahoma extension, as applicable. If you pay electronically, keep the payment confirmation number and provide a copy of Form 504-C with your income tax return.
How to file
- Enter the entity information and tax year, and check the return type.
- Enter the extension dates. Explain why you need additional time if your request goes beyond the federal extension.

Electronic payment: You may make an extension payment at tax.ok.gov. Some electronic payment services charge a convenience fee. Keep the confirmation number. If you pay electronically, do not mail Form 504-C. Instead, provide a copy when you file your income tax return.
Common mistakes
- Treating the extension as extra time to pay. It extends only the time to file. At least 90% of the tax liability must be paid by the original due date for the extension to be valid.
- Overlooking penalties and interest. A 5% delinquent penalty may be charged if less than 90% is paid by the original due date. Interest at 1.25% per month applies to unpaid tax from the original due date until paid.
- Leaving line 1 blank. You must enter an amount. Enter “0” if you do not expect to owe tax.
- Mailing the form after paying electronically. Do not mail Form 504-C if you make the extension payment electronically. Keep your confirmation number and provide a copy of the form with your return.
- Using the wrong extension form. Electing pass-through entities use Form 504-PTE, and individuals use Form 504-I.
