ND-1PRV: Form ND-1PRV - Paper Return Voucher (2024)

North Dakota · ND Tax Commissioner · Used for tax years 2024

North Dakota Form ND-1PRV is a payment voucher sent with a paper-filed 2024 Form ND-EZ or Form ND-1 and a check or money order. It records your identifying information and payment amount.

Who files this form

Use the 2024 Form ND-1PRV if all three apply:

  • You are filing your 2024 Form ND-EZ or Form ND-1 on paper.
  • You have a balance due on that return.
  • You are paying with a paper check or money order.

Do not use this voucher if you filed or will file your return electronically, or if you are paying electronically. For an extension payment on Form ND-1, use Form ND-1EXT instead.

When it's due

For tax year 2024, the balance due on Form ND-EZ or Form ND-1 must be paid on or before April 15, 2025, to avoid late payment penalty and interest charges.

What you'll need

To send a payment with this voucher, have:

  • Your paper 2024 Form ND-EZ or Form ND-1 return.
  • A check or money order for the payment.
  • Your name, mailing address, Social Security number, and payment amount to complete the voucher. The voucher also has fields for your spouse's name and Social Security number.

How to file

  1. Make your check or money order payable to ND State Tax Commissioner.
  2. Write the last four digits of your Social Security number and 2024 ND-1PRV on the check or money order.

Only checks drawn on a U.S. or Canadian bank, in U.S. dollars, and using a standard 9-digit routing number are accepted.

Electronic payment option: You may pay online by electronic check, debit card, or credit card. Go to www.tax.nd.gov and select “Make A Payment.” Do not use this voucher if you pay electronically or file your return electronically.

Common mistakes

  • Using this voucher when filing a return electronically or paying electronically. The form says not to use it in either case.
  • Using this voucher for an extension payment. Use Form ND-1EXT instead for an advance payment of an expected balance due when you have an extension to file Form ND-1.
  • Forgetting to write the last four digits of your Social Security number and “2024 ND-1PRV” on your check or money order.
  • Sending a check that does not meet the bank, currency, and routing-number requirements printed on the form.
  • Leaving out required identifying information. The form warns that failure to provide the required Social Security number or FEIN may delay or prevent processing.
