CD-429 PTE: Taxed S Corporation Estimated Income Tax (Revision)
North Carolina · North Carolina DOR · Used for tax years 2025
Form CD-429 PTE is used to make North Carolina estimated income tax payments for a Taxed S Corporation. It records the corporation’s identifying information, tax year, and payment amount and includes an optional worksheet to calculate estimated income tax.
Who files this form
Form CD-429 PTE is for:
- A Taxed S Corporation required to make estimated North Carolina income tax payments.
- An S Corporation that voluntarily prepays income tax.
Generally, a Taxed S Corporation must pay estimated income tax if it reasonably expects to owe at least $500 in North Carolina income tax for the tax year after subtracting tax credits.
When it's due
For the 2025 tax year, calendar-year filers generally must make four equal installments by:
- April 15, 2025
- June 15, 2025
- September 15, 2025
- December 15, 2025
For fiscal-year filers using this 2025 edition, installments are generally due on the 15th day of the fourth, sixth, ninth, and twelfth months of the taxable year.
If the payment requirement is first met later in the tax year, the schedule on page 2 determines the number and amount of installments.
If a payment deadline falls on a federal or State holiday or a weekend, a payment postmarked by the day following that holiday or weekend is considered on time.

How to file

N.C. Department of Revenue
P.O. Box 25000
Raleigh, N.C. 27640-0650

Common mistakes
- Sending an incomplete page 1 or including page 2. Submit all of page 1, but do not submit page 2.
- Taping or stapling the check to the form, or sending cash. The form specifically says not to do these things.
- Not reporting an address change. If your address has changed since your last tax return, report the correct address on Form NC-AC, Address Correction Notification.
- Paying too little by an installment deadline. Underpayment may result in interest, even if the corporation receives a refund when it files its return. Interest is calculated separately for each installment.
