CT-636: Alcoholic Beverages Production Credit (2024)
New York · NY DTF · Used for tax years 2024
Form CT-636 is used by corporations to claim New York's Alcoholic Beverage Production Credit. It reports eligibility information and calculates credits for alcoholic beverages produced in New York State, including beer and cider. It is filed with Form CT-3, CT-3-A, or CT-3-S.
Who files this form
Use Form CT-636 to claim the alcoholic beverage production credit as a corporation that earned the credit or as a corporate partner that received a share of the credit from a partnership.
For a corporation claiming the credit it earned, Schedule A requires registration as a distributor under Tax Law Article 18. It also asks whether the corporation produced any of the following in New York State during the tax year:
- 60 million gallons or less of beer.
- 60 million gallons or less of cider.
- 20 million gallons or less of wine.
- 800,000 gallons or less of liquor.
If you are not registered as a distributor, or answer No to all four production questions, the form says you do not qualify for the credit.
Corporate partners claiming a share of a partnership's credit complete Schedule H. C corporation partners also complete Schedules F and G.
