Common mistakes
- Using this version for an earlier period. The 2024 form is only for tax periods beginning on or after January 1, 2024. The form warns that returns for earlier periods will not be processed or considered timely filed, and penalties and interest may result.
- Leaving out the tax period. All filers must enter both the beginning and ending dates.
- Filing CT-3-M separately. The form says to file it with Form CT-3 or CT-3-A.
- Missing a required checkbox. If claiming an overpayment, mark the overpayment box. If attaching Form CT-222, mark the box on line 9.
- Leaving check stubs attached. The payment directions say to detach all check stubs.
