New Mexico · New Mexico TRD · Used for tax years 2024
Form PIT-PV is New Mexico’s Personal Income Tax Payment Voucher for payments with a final PIT-1 return. It identifies the taxpayer, tax year, and amount enclosed.
Who files this form
PIT-PV is for taxpayers who want to make a payment with their final New Mexico PIT-1 personal income tax return. You may submit the voucher with your payment or pay online.
For an estimated payment, use PIT-ES instead. For an extension payment, use PIT-EXT.
What you'll need
To mail a payment, have:
- A high-quality printed, original PIT-PV voucher, not a photocopy.
- Your name, address, Social Security number, and spouse’s name and Social Security number, if applicable.
- The tax year for the payment and the amount enclosed.
- A signed check or money order payable to New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.
- Your own envelope.
Write your Social Security number(s), PIT-PV, and the correct tax year on your check or money order.
How to file
Pay by mail
Complete the voucher with your taxpayer information, tax year, and payment amount. Cut only on the dotted line to detach it. Include your signed check or money order payable to New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.
Using your own envelope, mail the voucher and payment to:
New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department
P.O. Box 8390
Santa Fe, NM 87504-8390
Pay online
Go to Taxpayer Access Point (TAP). Under GENERAL TASKS, select Make a Payment, then Individual.
You can pay by electronic check at no charge. This authorizes the Department to debit your checking account for the amount and on the date you specify. You can also pay by credit card, but a convenience fee applies.
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong voucher: Use PIT-PV for a payment with the final PIT-1 return, PIT-ES for estimated payments, and PIT-EXT for extension payments.
- Leaving out the payment: Always include your payment when mailing the voucher, and sign your check or money order.
- Entering incorrect or unreadable information: Check the tax year, names, address, and Social Security numbers for accuracy and legibility.
- Leaving identifying information off the payment: Write your Social Security number(s), PIT-PV, and the correct tax year on the check or money order.
- Using a photocopy or resizing the voucher: Submit a high-quality printed original. Set printer page scaling to None and cut only on the dotted line.
- Writing around the scanline: If the voucher has a long row of numbers within its bottom 1½ inches, do not write in the area around it.
- Mailing to the wrong address: Send the voucher and payment to the Department’s P.O. Box 8390 address in Santa Fe.
