Questions people ask
How is the tax calculated on this form?
Add the New Jersey-source income on lines 8 through 16 and enter the total on line 17. Multiply line 17 by 10.75% to calculate the tax on line 18. Add any interest on underpayment of estimated tax from line 19 to get total tax due on line 20.
What is the difference between Schedules A and B?
Schedule A is the participant directory and includes taxable income and New Jersey income tax for each participant. Schedule B is the nonparticipant directory and includes taxable income for each nonparticipant. Both ask for names, Social Security numbers or EINs, and principal addresses.
What happens if payments and credits exceed the total tax due?
If line 25 is more than line 20, enter the difference as an overpayment on line 27. Line 28 is for the amount to be refunded, and line 29 is for a credit to 2025 tax.
Will choosing the Gubernatorial Elections Fund designation change the tax or refund?
No. The form says that designating $1 of your taxes for the fund will not increase the tax or reduce the refund.
