New Jersey · NJ Division of Taxation · Used for tax years 2025
Form GIT-337 is used to claim the 2025 New Jersey Low Embodied Carbon Concrete Tax Credit against gross income tax. It reports your credit certificate amount, prior-year carryforward, allowable credit for the current year, and credit carried forward to the following year.
Who files this form
Use Form GIT-337 to claim the Low Embodied Carbon Concrete Tax Credit against New Jersey Gross Income Tax.
The credit is available to producers of low embodied carbon concrete products or concrete incorporating carbon capture, utilization, and storage technology that either:
- Is delivered under a State contract, or a contract with a private firm that has contracted with the State, for at least 50 cubic yards of concrete; or
- Has received an approved environmental product declaration from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
You must have approval from the Department of Environmental Protection and a tax credit certificate issued by the New Jersey Division of Taxation. If you answer “No” to either qualification question in Part I, you are not eligible and must not complete the rest of the form.
What you'll need
Submit these documents together:
- A completed Form GIT-337.
- A cover letter requesting the credit, with your name, daytime phone number, and current mailing address.

- Complete Part II to calculate your available credit, allowable credit, and carryforward. The allowable credit is the lesser of line 5 or line 8.

Common mistakes
- Continuing when you are not eligible. Stop if either qualification answer in Part I is “No.”
- Claiming the credit directly on your income tax return. The form says you must file the return first, then submit Form GIT-337 to request the credit separately.
- Leaving out required documents. Include your cover letter, income tax return copy, and tax credit certificate copy. Check the certificate attachment box on the form.
- Claiming more than the allowed tax amount. The credit cannot reduce your total tax liability below zero.
- Overlooking the usage period. The credit must be used in the tax year the certificate is issued and may be carried forward for seven years.
