New Hampshire · New Hampshire DRA · Used for tax years 2025
Form NH-1120-WE is New Hampshire’s 2025 Combined Business Profits Tax Return. It reports a business group’s combined income, New Hampshire adjustments, apportionment, deductions and credits to calculate its Business Profits Tax.
What you'll need
The return must include complete, legible copies of the appropriate federal forms and schedules.
Depending on the entries you make, you may also need:
- A separate schedule for each group member's Line 10 adjustments, with the adjustments combined on the return.
- Schedule IV for adjustments on Lines 10(c) and 10(e).
- A schedule of separate-entity income or expense items for Line 11(b).
- A schedule of income or franchise taxes by state for Line 12(c).
- A research contribution computation for Line 12(g).
- Supporting schedules for a basis-increase election or multiple transactions under Line 12(h).
- Form DP-80 for the New Hampshire apportionment amount.
- Schedules II and III for foreign dividend entries.
- Form DP-132-WE, attached when claiming a New Hampshire net operating loss deduction.
- The BET Credit Worksheet on the BET Return for a BET-only credit, or Form DP-160 for other credits, including BET.
Schedule I-A uses Federal Form 1120 and Forms DP-120, DP-120-P, and DP-121 for the applicable types of non-consolidated members.
Common mistakes
- Not rounding amounts. The form says to round to the nearest whole dollar.
- Using the wrong sign on Line 6. Report inter-company income as a negative amount and expenses as a positive amount.
- Leaving out group members' adjustments. Line 10 must reflect all members. Complete a separate schedule for each member and combine the adjustments on the return.
- Entering inconsistent foreign dividend amounts. Line 11(d) must match Schedule II, Line 2, and the total of Column B on Schedule III.
- Claiming an inapplicable compensation deduction. Line 12(b) does not apply to a business organization taxed federally as a corporation or trust.
- Using the wrong apportionment format. Enter Line 14 as a decimal to six places.
- Reporting negative amounts where they are not allowed. Enter zero on Line 18 if the result is negative. Line 21 cannot be less than zero.
- Omitting federal attachments. Include complete, legible copies of the appropriate federal forms and schedules.
