Missouri · Missouri DOR · Used for tax years 2025
Missouri Form MO-CRP certifies rent paid for 2025 and reports your rental location, landlord information, rental period, and rent paid. It calculates the rent amount to enter on Form MO-PTC or MO-PTS and must be attached to that form.
Who files this form
Form MO-CRP certifies rent paid for 2025 and is attached to Form MO-PTC or MO-PTS. You must provide a separate Form MO-CRP for each rental location where you lived.
The form states that you are not eligible for a Property Tax Credit if you rent from a facility that does not pay property tax.
What you'll need
Have the following ready to complete your 2025 Form MO-CRP:
- A completed Verification of Rent Paid, Form 5674, which must be attached.
- Form MO-PTC or MO-PTS, to which you will attach Form MO-CRP.
- Your name, Social Security number, and spouse’s Social Security number, if applicable.
- The rental unit’s physical address, including the apartment number. A P.O. box is not allowed.
- Your landlord’s name, street address, and phone number.
- The dates you rented the unit during 2025 and the amount of rent you paid.
- Your housing type and, if you shared rent, the number of additional people sharing it other than your spouse or children under 18.
How to file
- Complete a separate Form MO-CRP for each rental location where you lived in 2025.
- Enter your identifying information, rental address, landlord information, and rental dates. If you are related to your landlord, check the box and explain.
- Enter gross rent paid on Line 6 and attach a completed Form 5674. If you received housing assistance, enter the amount of rent you paid.
- Select the appropriate housing category on Line 7 and enter its percentage. Multiply Line 6 by that percentage to get net rent paid on Line 8.
- Multiply Line 8 by 20%. Enter the result on Line 9 and on either Line 10 of Form MO-PTC or Line 12 of Form MO-PTS.
- Attach Form MO-CRP to Form MO-PTC or MO-PTS and mail it to the Missouri Department of Revenue, Taxation Division.
The supplied form does not print a mailing street address or e-file instructions.
Common mistakes
- Leaving out landlord information. The form warns that missing landlord information may cause a denial or delay. The landlord’s street address and phone number must be completed.
- Using a P.O. box for the rental unit. Enter the physical address instead.
- Not providing a form for every rental location. One Form MO-CRP is required for each location where you lived.
- Forgetting Form 5674. Attach a completed Verification of Rent Paid.
- Including housing assistance instead of only what you paid. If you received assistance, enter the amount of rent you paid.
- Overlooking the property-tax restriction. The form says you are not eligible for a Property Tax Credit if the facility you rent from does not pay property tax.
