Missouri · Missouri DOR · Used for tax years 2024

Form MO-1120 is Missouri’s Corporation Income Tax Return for 2024. It reports federal taxable income, Missouri adjustments, taxable income, tax credits and payments to calculate a refund or amount due.

What you'll need

Have your corporation’s identifying information and federal tax figures ready, including Federal Form 1120, Line 30, and Schedule J, Lines 12 and 5a.

Depending on your return, the form calls for these attachments:

  • Approved federal extension: Attach a copy of the approved Federal Extension, Form 7004.
  • Income that is not all Missouri income: Complete and attach Form MO-MS.
  • Tax credits: Attach Form MO-TC.
  • Recapture of Missouri low income housing credit: Attach a copy of Federal Form 8611.
  • Interest from exempt federal obligations: Attach a detailed schedule.
  • Consolidated federal and separate Missouri return: Attach consolidated Federal Form 1120, Schedule J, and an income statement or summary of profit companies.

For amended carryback returns, Part 5 lists additional federal return copies, income statements, and computations required of consolidated federal and separate Missouri filers.

How to file

Complete the applicable return sections and boxes. The signature block asks for an officer’s signature, printed name, telephone number, and date, along with the preparer’s information and signature, including an internal preparer.

Mail the return to the address that matches its result:

PO Box 3365

Jefferson City, MO 65105-3365

Refund or no amount due

Missouri Department of Revenue

PO Box 700

The amount due must be in U.S. funds. Paying by check authorizes the Department of Revenue to process the check electronically. A returned check may be presented again electronically.

Common mistakes

  • Missing the address change box: The form warns that failing to select it may cause mail to go to the last address on file.
  • Leaving out consolidated-return support: Consolidated federal and separate Missouri filers must complete Part 3, Lines 4 through 6, and attach the required federal return information. Without it, the federal income tax deduction may be reduced to zero.
  • Entering the wrong net operating loss amount: Part 1, Line 3 says not to enter an NOL carryover. Part 2, Line 9 says to enter only a previously disallowed NOL carryback.
  • Combining amended-return reasons: Select one reason in Part 4. A separate Form MO-1120 must be filed for each reason.
