What you'll need
The 2025 schedule references these forms and supporting schedules, depending on which lines apply:
- Federal Form 1120, page 1, line 28: Starting federal taxable income for line 1. For multistate direct accounting, the form says to enter zero and skip to line 23 instead.
- Form 83-150: Nonbusiness income adjustments and allocations for lines 17 and 21.
- Form 83-125, Part II: Apportionment ratio and checkbox selection for line 19.
- Mississippi K-1s, Form 84-132: Attach for Mississippi income or loss from a partnership, S corporation or trust on line 22.
- Form 83-124, page 2, line 31 and/or page 3, line 46: Mississippi construction contracting or natural mineral resource production income for line 23.
- Form 83-155: Part II, line 2 supplies the capital loss deduction for line 25; Part I, line 2 supplies the net operating loss deduction for line 28.
Attach schedules for other additions on line 7, additional depreciation on line 13, other deductions on line 14, other adjustments on line 26, and the income exemption on line 29, as applicable.
Common mistakes
- Not rounding amounts: The form says to round to the nearest dollar.
- Missing the special line instructions: For multistate direct accounting, enter zero on line 1 and skip to line 23. If 100% Mississippi, complete line 16, then skip to page 2, line 20.
- Leaving line 29 blank when the exemption does not apply: Enter zero instead.
- Transferring a negative amount to Form 83-105, line 5: If line 30 is negative, the form says to enter zero on Form 83-105, line 5.
- Omitting requested attachments: Include the schedules requested for applicable lines and Mississippi K-1s for line 22.
