CIFT-620ES: Declaration of Estimated Tax for Corporations (2024)
Louisiana · Louisiana LDR · Used for tax years 2024
Louisiana Form CIFT-620ES is the Declaration of Estimated Tax for Corporations. It includes worksheets to calculate or revise estimated corporation income tax and vouchers to submit installment payments.
Who files this form
Any corporation that reasonably expects its Louisiana income tax for the taxable year to be $1,000 or more must make estimated tax payments. Estimated tax is the expected Louisiana income tax for the current period, minus estimated allowable credits.
Subchapter S corporations and other pass-through entities that receive acceptance of the Pass-through Entity Election under LA R.S. 287.732.2 must also make estimated tax payments. These entities should use the tax rate provided under that law.
Estimated payments apply only to income tax. Do not file CIFT-620ES if you pay electronically.

Questions people ask
Can I use an overpayment from last year toward an installment?
Yes. If you elected on last year’s return to apply the overpayment to estimated corporation income tax, you may apply part or all of it to any installment.
What if my estimated tax changes after I make a payment?
Complete the Worksheet for Amending Estimated Income Tax. Subtract allowable credits and previous estimated payments from the amended estimated tax, then divide the unpaid balance by the number of remaining installments.
Must I always make four equal installments?
No. The number and size of installments depend on when your estimated tax first reaches $1,000 or more. The form lists four payments of 25% if the requirement is met before the fourth month, three payments of 33⅓% if first met during months four or five, two payments of 50% if first met during months six through eight, and one payment of 100% if first met during months nine through eleven.
Do estimated payments cover taxes other than income tax?
No. The form states that estimated tax payments apply only to income tax.
