K-25: Affordable Housing Tax Credit Schedule (Revision 2025-09)
Kansas · Kansas DOR · Used for tax years 2024, 2025, 2026
Kansas Schedule K-25 calculates the Affordable Housing Tax Credit for a qualified development in Kansas. It reports development information, your share of the credit, the amount allowed for the tax year, and unused credit to carry forward.
Who files this form
Schedule K-25 is used to claim the Kansas Affordable Housing Tax Credit for a qualified development in Kansas.
A qualified taxpayer is an individual or other entity that owns a direct or indirect interest in a qualified development and is subject to income or privilege taxes. A qualified development is a Kansas qualified low-income housing project that the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) determines is eligible for a federal tax credit.
An owner allocated a credit, and each qualified taxpayer allocated a portion of that credit by the owner, must file the KHRC allocation certificate and any applicable pass-through certification with the income, privilege or premium tax return. Submit a separate K-25 for each project Building Identification Number (BIN).
When it's due
The text does not state a K-25 filing due date. It lists these program cutoff dates in the 2025 tax year for developments receiving 4% federal tax credits:
- On or before November 14, 2025: Qualified developments receiving those credits will continue to receive the awarded credit through the credit period and any carryforward period.
- On or after November 15, 2025: No applications will be accepted and no additional credit will be awarded for qualified developments receiving 4% federal tax credits.
These are program cutoff dates, not tax return filing deadlines.
