42-041: IA 200 Imputed Iowa Late Filing Penalty Worksheet 42-041 (2025)

Iowa · Iowa DOR · Used for tax years 2025

The 2025 IA 200 is a worksheet for IA 1120 and IA 1120F filers to calculate a late filing penalty when they have zero tax due. It uses Iowa-source net income, imputed Iowa tax, and tax credits to calculate the penalty. Keep the worksheet for your records.

Who files this form

Use the 2025 IA 200 worksheet if you file IA 1120 or IA 1120F, have zero tax due, and are filing your return after its due date.

This applies to corporations other than S corporations and financial institutions subject to the franchise tax that do business in Iowa or receive income from Iowa sources.

There is no Iowa filing threshold for business entities. Having zero tax due, including when claiming the protections of Public Law 86-272, does not remove the annual return filing requirement.

What you'll need

Have the applicable return available to get the figures needed for this worksheet:

The worksheet does not provide a mailing address or e-filing directions.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming zero tax due means no return is required. The worksheet states that there is no Iowa filing threshold for business entities. Entities claiming Public Law 86-272 protections are also subject to the filing requirements.
  • Not keeping the worksheet. The form tells you to retain it for your records.
