- IA 102 if you are filing an amended return.

Common mistakes
- Using a typed or stamped signature. The form does not accept these. Sign by hand or use a digital signature with a digital certificate.
- Leaving out required attachments. Include IA 102 for an amended return and IA Schedule CC with the credits reported on line 2.
- Entering negative composite tax for a member. If column G multiplied by column H is less than $0, enter $0 in column I.
- Using the wrong payment total on an amended return. Lines 8 and 11 direct amended filers to use line 7b rather than line 7.
- Ignoring cents. The return directs you to enter dollars and cents.
Questions people ask
Can I apply an overpayment to next year’s return?
Yes. Line 9 lets you apply part or all of the overpayment on line 8 to the 2026 IA PTE-C return. Line 10 shows the remaining amount to be refunded.
How is each nonresident member’s composite tax calculated?
On the Nonresident Member Schedule, multiply Iowa-source income in column G by the applicable Iowa tax rate in column H. Enter the result in column I. If the result is less than $0, enter $0.
What if I need more space for nonresident members?
The schedule says to use additional pages if necessary. Include their summary totals on line 2 of the schedule.
What must I include with an amended return?
Check the amended-return box and include IA 102. The form also has amended-return-only lines 7a and 7b for refunds, carryforwards, and the adjusted payment total.
