Questions people ask
What tax years does this version cover?
The 2024 Schedule UB states that it is for tax years ending on or after December 31, 2024. This is an applicability date, not a filing deadline.
Where do I report mergers and members that left the group?
Use Step 1, Section B, for mergers with members listed in Section A. Section C asks for members who left during the tax year, including the sold member, the buyer, their FEINs, and the sale date.
What information is required for excluded members?
Enter the total number excluded in Step 1, Section D. If that number is one or more, complete Step 5 with each excluded company's name, FEIN, and one reason for exclusion: “80/20 company” or “not unitary.”
How is the apportionment factor calculated?
In Step 4, Line 4, divide Line 3 of each column by Line 2, Column D. Line 3 reports net sales inside Illinois, and Line 2, Column D, reports combined net sales everywhere. Round to six decimal places.
