Questions people ask
Is Schedule O filed by itself?
No. It must be completed and filed with Form N-30 by every corporation engaged in business both within and outside Hawaii.
Where does the Hawaii allocation percentage come from?
Use the percentage from Schedule P, line 5. On Schedule O, line 24, multiply line 23 by that percentage.
What does item (f) ask me to compare?
It asks whether the amounts on lines 12 through 17, 20, and 21 are the same as those reported in returns or reports to other states under the Uniform Division of Income for Tax Purposes Act. If you answer “No,” attach an explanation.
How is income wholly attributable to Hawaii included?
Report the applicable income on lines 28 through 32(c), total it on line 33, and add line 33 to line 27 on line 34.
Where do I report the final Hawaii taxable income or loss?
Enter line 34 minus line 37 on Schedule O, line 38. Also enter that result on Form N-30, Schedule J, page 2, line 12.
