F-1120X: Amended Florida Corporate Income/Franchise Tax Return (Revision)

Florida · Florida DOR · Used for tax years 2024, 2025, 2026

Form F-1120X is used to amend a previously filed Florida corporate income/franchise tax return. It reports corrected income, deductions, credits, tax, and payments, along with any additional amount due or overpayment.

Who files this form

Use Form F-1120X to correct a Florida corporate income/franchise tax return previously filed on Form F-1120 or F-1120A. You can correct the original return or a return later adjusted by an amended return, refund claim, or examination.

Reasons for amending include an amended federal return, an IRS audit adjustment, or another adjustment. You may file Form F-1120X only after filing the original return.

What you'll need

  • Federal return: Attach a copy. Also attach any federal schedules, forms, or statements that apply to your Florida amendment.
  • Amended federal return: Attach a copy if it is the reason for the amendment.
  • IRS audit documents: For an IRS audit adjustment, attach a signed, dated Form 4549-A, also called a Revenue Agent Report, or another document showing the completed audit.
  • Updated Florida schedules: Attach the schedules supporting your changes. Include the corporation's name and FEIN on all attachments. If you change the apportionment fraction, attach recomputed Schedules III and IV of Form F-1120.
  • Payment records: Have records of estimated payments, tentative payments, tax paid with or after the return, and prior credits or refunds. Include documentation for tax paid because of an audit.
  • Refund support: A refund claim must include documentation showing that the IRS accepted the amended return and paid the refund. Examples include an IRS approval letter or refund check copy. An IRS transcript may also be needed.
  • Other applicable attachments: Include Form F-2220 and/or a schedule for penalty and interest. Sub S corporations requesting a refund must include the IRS Notice of Acceptance as an S Corporation if it was not included with previously filed returns.

  2. Check the reason for the amendment and the type of return being amended. For an IRS audit adjustment, enter the IRS report date.
  3. Complete all of Part I. Put amounts originally reported or later adjusted in Column A and corrected amounts in Column B.
  4. In Part II, identify each changed line and explain the reason for the change. Attach supporting schedules and extra sheets as needed.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving out the federal return: The return is considered incomplete without a copy.
  • Leaving fields or supporting information incomplete: The entire return must be completed. Missing or incomplete information may delay processing.
  • Using an invalid signature: An original signature is required. Photocopied, facsimile, and stamped signatures are not accepted. An unsigned or improperly signed and verified return is subject to a penalty, and the statute of limitations period will not start until it is properly signed and verified.
  • Claiming loss carrybacks: Florida law does not allow net operating loss or capital loss carrybacks.
  • Missing payment or attachment details: Sign your check and returns, write your FEIN on the check, and attach the signed, dated IRS Form 4549-A and/or other required documents.
