Questions people ask

How is tax on behalf of non-resident shareholders calculated?

Multiply distributive income on Line 5 by the percentage of stock owned by non-residents on Line 6. Enter the result on Line 7, then multiply it by 6.60% to calculate the tax on Line 8.

What happens if total payments and credits exceed the tax on Line 8?

If Line 13 is greater than Line 8, the form says the amount on Line 13 will be the estimated tax proportionally claimed by the non-resident shareholders when they file their Delaware non-resident personal income tax returns. The S corporation will not receive a direct refund of estimated tax overpaid on their behalf.

Where does the total net income on Line 1 come from?

Use Form SCT-SSA, Column B, Line 20.

Can I mark this as an amended return?

Yes. The form includes an “Amended Return” checkbox.
