Schedule CT K-1: Member's Share of Certain Connecticut Items - Fillable (2025)
Connecticut · Connecticut DRS · Used for tax years 2025
Schedule CT K-1 reports a pass-through entity member’s share of certain Connecticut tax items for 2025. It includes Connecticut income modifications, Connecticut-sourced income and deductions, income tax liability, and tax credits, as applicable.
Who files this form
A pass-through entity (PE) must prepare and furnish Schedule CT K-1 to every member.
The parts to complete depend on the member:
- Part 1: Resident and nonresident noncorporate members, and members that are PEs.
- Parts 2 and 3: Nonresident noncorporate members and members that are PEs.
- Part 4: All members other than corporate members, if applicable.
- Part 5: All members, if applicable.
When it's due
For the 2025 tax year, a PE must furnish Schedule CT K-1 by the fifteenth day of the third month following the close of its taxable year. The printed calendar-year deadline is March 15.
If the PE timely files Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI EXT to request an extension for its composite income tax return, the deadline to furnish Schedule CT K-1 automatically extends to the fifteenth day of the ninth month following the close of the taxable year. The printed calendar-year extended deadline is September 15.
What you'll need
Have the following information and forms available, as applicable:
- PE information: Name, address, FEIN, and Connecticut tax registration number.
- Member information: Name, address, member type, and SSN or FEIN.
- Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI: The member's modifications, Connecticut-sourced income, tax liability, and credit information are transferred from this return.
- Federal Schedule K-1 from Form 1065 or Form 1120S: Used for Part 2, Column A.
- Statements for other income or deductions: Part 2 requires an attached statement for other income or loss on Line 11 and other deductions on Line 13.
How to file
Complete Schedule CT K-1 in blue or black ink. Fill in the PE and member information, identify the member type, and check whether the member's identification number is an SSN or FEIN. Complete the applicable parts using the source returns listed on the schedule.
For PEs:
- If Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI is electronically filed with the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS), do not file Schedule CT K-1 with DRS.
- If Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI is filed on paper with DRS, attach the Schedules CT K-1 to the end of that return.
- Issue Schedule CT K-1 to every member regardless of how the PE's return is filed.
For recipients: Individual recipients should not attach Schedule CT K-1 to their Connecticut income tax return. The instructions specifically require trusts and estates to attach it to Form CT-1041.
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong ink: Complete the schedule in blue or black ink only.
- Entering Part 1 subtractions as negative amounts: Both additions and subtractions in Part 1 must be entered as positive numbers.
- Missing status boxes: Check the appropriate box if the schedule is amended or final, and indicate whether the member's identification number is an SSN or FEIN.
- Claiming too much credit: A Part 5, Column C credit cannot exceed the available credit. Total credits applied cannot exceed Column A, Line 1.
- Assuming the schedule tracks credit carryforwards: Neither Schedule CT K-1 nor the composite return computes or reports each member's credit carryforward information.
