CT-1065/CT-1120SI ES: Estimated Connecticut Pass-Through Entity Tax Payment Coupons (2024)
Connecticut · Connecticut DRS · Used for tax years 2024
Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI ES is a payment coupon for 2024 estimated Connecticut pass-through entity tax. It identifies the entity, its taxable year ending date, and the payment amount due. Filing and payment must be electronic unless the entity receives a waiver from the Department
Who files this form
Every pass-through entity (PE) that is subject to Connecticut pass-through entity tax and required to make estimated payments should file this coupon.
For tax year 2024, estimated payments are required if the PE’s required annual payment is $1,000 or more. The required annual payment is the lesser of:
- 90% of the PE tax shown on Part 1, Schedule A, Line 2a of the current-year return, or 90% of the current-year PE tax if no return is filed.
- 100% of the PE tax shown on Part 1, Schedule A, Line 2a of the previous-year return, if that year covered 12 months and the PE filed a return for that year.
Each quarterly estimated payment should equal 25% of the required annual payment.
When it's due
For calendar-year filers, the printed estimated payment deadlines for tax year 2024 are:
- April 15, 2024
- June 15, 2024
- September 15, 2024
- January 15, 2025
For tax year 2024 generally, payments are due on or before the 15th day of the fourth, sixth, and ninth months of the taxable year, and the 15th day of the first month of the next taxable year.
What you'll need
Have these details ready to complete the coupon:
- Connecticut Tax Registration Number, if any.
- Federal Employer ID Number (FEIN).
- Pass-through entity name, address, and entity type.
- Taxable year ending date and payment amount.
To calculate the required annual payment, use the PE tax amount on Part 1, Schedule A, Line 2a of the current-year return, or the current-year PE tax if no return is filed. The previous-year return amount may be used for comparison if that year covered 12 months and a return was filed.
If DRS has granted an electronic filing and payment waiver, you may use a paper coupon and check.
How to file
File the coupon and pay electronically. Do not mail a paper coupon unless the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) has granted a waiver.
Form DRS-EWVR, Electronic Filing and Payment Waiver Request, is available through the electronic filing information website at portal.ct.gov/DRS.
If you received a waiver from the electronic filing and payment requirement:
- Complete the coupon in blue or black ink only.
- Make the check payable to Commissioner of Revenue Services.
- Write “2024 CT-1065/CT-1120SI ES” and the PE’s FEIN on the front of the check.
- Mail the coupon and payment to:
Department of Revenue Services
State of Connecticut
PO Box 2965
Hartford CT 06104-2965
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong year’s coupon. Each form is year specific. Submit the correct year’s form to avoid processing delays.
- Mailing a paper coupon without a waiver. The coupon must be filed and paid electronically unless DRS grants a waiver.
- Leaving identifying details off a check. If paying by check under a waiver, write “2024 CT-1065/CT-1120SI ES” and the PE’s FEIN on the front so the payment is applied to the correct account.
- Assuming a later payment or refund prevents interest. Interest may apply if an installment is underpaid, even if the PE later catches up or is due a refund. Interest is calculated separately for each installment.
