Who files this form
Use this form only if you need to make an additional Colorado individual income tax payment for tax year 2025 by check or money order.
Colorado grants filing extensions automatically. Do not file this form if no payment is due. You also do not need to send it if you pay online.
When it's due
For tax year 2025, the form lists these deadlines:
- April 15: The regular return due date and the deadline for any payment needed under the extension worksheet.
- June 15: The return filing deadline if you are traveling or residing outside the United States on April 15.
- October 15: The automatic six-month extended filing deadline. This extended deadline also applies to people traveling or residing abroad.
The filing extension does not extend the payment due date. If the payment due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, payment is due the next business day. Penalty and interest are assessed if certain payment criteria are not met.
