Find the row that includes your taxable income from Form 40A, line 13. Your income must be at least the first amount and less than the second amount. Then read across to the column for your filing status.
Where do I enter the tax amount?
Enter the tax amount from the table on line 14 of Form 40A.
What does the example in the table show?
The example uses a married couple filing jointly with taxable income of $23,360. They use the row for income of at least $23,300 but less than $23,400. The married filing jointly column shows $1,088, which they enter on line 14.
What if my taxable income is over $100,000?
Use the worksheet printed after the table. Subtract $100,000 from your taxable income and multiply the result by .05. Then add $4,958 if you are single, married filing separately, or head of family. If you are married filing jointly, add $4,918 instead. The total is your tax.
